Blind Service Chicago

The mission of Blind Service Chicago is to improve the lives of people in Chicago who are blind and or have low vision. I am currently the Treasurer of the BSC Junior Board. The project I am most proud of was our Fall 5K Walk, which I helped set up for the blind and visually impaired in Chicago. I was in charge of our budget for snacks, shirts, and supplies. Our 5K Walk raised money for city kids who are visually impaired to attend Pathways Summer Camp. It was so fulfilling and inspiring to walk with the kids during the 5K. I also volunteer every year at the Pathways Summer Camp. I teach visually impaired kids different activities like chess, kayaking, and golf.

Blind Hockey Chicago

Additionally, I am an assistant hockey coach for Blind Hockey Chicago. I teach blind hockey players how to skate and play in games using pucks with bells inside so they can track the sound. This has been the most incredible experience for me to share my love of hockey and inspire others.
